Orthodontics and asthma

Asthma is a chronic pulmonary disease. In orthodontics, the severity of the disease is important in people with asthma. Asthma can be severe or mild. Asthma affects the functioning of the patient’s lungs and has respiratory complications.
Respiratory complications of lungs and the use of anti-asthma drugs cause dry mouth, which usually affects oral health and hygiene.
This oral drying leads to tooth decay, mass, pests and gum disease, and ultimately increases the risk of dysplasia and dental anomalies.

If you have asthma disease:
Stay in touch with your orthodontist.
If you use an inhaler spray, take it with you.
Your orthodontist must know all the medicines you use. (Tell your orthodontist if you are taking corticosteroids.)
