Types of brackets

Metal braces

The most common type of bracket is the metal bracket, which is the easiest type of bracket for patients today.Such brackets are made of high quality stainless steel that smooths the teeth using metal brackets and orthodontic wires. Metal brackets for a different smile allow the patient a chance to choose and use the color blend.

Selfligating brackets

These kind of brackets are made of similar materials made of metal brackets that do not require colored elastics, and the number of patient attendance sessions in the office decreases.Automatic brackets are metal, ceramic or transparent. The size of these brackets is similar to metal brackets, but instead of colored elastic brackets, metal tabs that hold the orthodontic array in place are used. The tabs on the bracket bring less friction to the teeth and require less adjustments, and subsequently dental movement is faster.

Transparent brackets (ceramic)

Ceramic brackets are made of transparent materials that are much less visible and recognizable than metal brackets. For this reason, these types of brackets are usually used for younger and adult patients who are of great importance to beauty.

While they have less prominence and require more care and hygiene from the patient.

Because they are more exposed to fractures than metal brackets. For the same reason, more ceramic brackets are used in the anterior maxillary teeth than in mandibular teeth.

Clear Aligner

Transparent plaques are a set of invisible moving plates that arrange teeth like brackets. These types of plaques are not only invisible, they are also movable, and the patient can remove them from the mouth while eating and brush them and use them again. The advantage of these types of plaques is their comfort and the use of any metal. It does not cause any abrasions on the teeth during orthodontic treatment

Lingual bracketes (inside the mouth)

The lingual bracketes inside the patient’s mouth are hidden in the back of the teeth, while the patient’s smile does not find any brackets or wires.

100% lingual brackets are made by the dental laboratory according to the shape of each tooth and it should be noted that it is different for each patient.

Such brackets will make the patient’s mouths more abrasive and more likely to swallow them.
